The story of Tuesday Microgrooves begins in late autumn 2007 at Peter Stodulka’s project studio in Graz. Bassist Wolfgang Radl wants to start a jazz trio after years of engaging with electronic music, heavily influenced at the time by the Esbjörn Svensson Trio (the „Tuesday“ in the band name refers to their 2007 album „Tuesday Wonderland“). With Jenö Lörincz (piano) and Norbert Wallner (drums) on board, the first tracks are recorded, and they search for a vocalist, finding Maria Rerych and Farina Miss for the live debut.Farina stays with the band until 2010.
After their first performances, Peter Stodulka submits the recording of „What are you supposed to do?“ to the Helix Board Contest in Germany, where the band achieves first place out of 800 entries. This leads them to Ulli Pallemann and Florian Richter at Studio 301 in Cologne, where the entire first album „Spring Kisses. Summer Rain“ is created in two sessions.
In May 2010, the first of many collaborations with Atmosphere Media takes place, where under Alain Bertoni, the entire album is recorded on video again. Additionally, contributions for the German Recording Magazine are also being produced during this time. After Farina Miss leaves, the album is presented a bit later than planned with the new singer Lena Mentschel in May 2011, and Sigrid Narowetz on cello is already part of the band, with Philipp Metzger organizing the release.
