During the COVID break, Wolfgang Radl started to rethink essential parts of the project. Following an extensive previous chapter and considering the huge amount of work to coordinate all the people involved, it was time to now agree on a small core line up for the next endeavor.
From the beginning, Tuesday Microgrooves had ventured into the world of classical music and now the time was right to deepen this exploration. Soon, the name ‚The Raw Book of Music‘ emerged.
Or as stated in the press release: In the first Raw Book, the four musicians focused on establishing the new band sound. The result is a musical journey with rhythmic complexity, heartfelt melodies, chamber music colors and a hard-hitting groove. And of course: hope.
The requirements for the piano changed, which led to the engagement of Thaïs-Bernarda Bauer, who had already made herself a name with her very refreshing crossover arrangements.
In 2021 the band was chosen to represent Austria at the ‚UNESCO International Day of Jazz,‘ and this concert, which was also broadcast live on Austrian radio.
Both parts of the „Raw Book of Music“ were recorded by Christian Seitz and Martin Kromar, each on one day. All featured songs were played together at the same time to embody the live character of classical chamber music.“
During the Raw Book II recording session the playback for the collaboration with Monika Ballwein was recored as well and later aired on several Austrian radio stations during the 2024 holidays.
